W9R3 Graduation... After 4 weeks off

Soooo hi I'm back and have shamefully allowed hot weather, life and gremlins get in the way of wk9r3. After completing R2 I decided it would be great to do my first park run for the final. I never got the opportunity due to family commitments and after that life got really busy and when I found the motivation it was peak heatwave which REALLY put me off. I gave myself a proverbial kick in the backside last weekend by finally signing up for the Bournemouth 10k with 8/9 weeks to prepare and it took me another 4 days to get out and complete my final C25K run.

I prepared myself for a tough one and decided it was ok to have a minute's walk at 15 minutes if it was unbearable. 15 minutes came and I decided another 5 was achievable, then after that I decided I was nearly done so may as well keep going. Then my phone battery died and I was guessing the time with no music ๐Ÿ˜ฉ (The risk of evening runs) however I ran the usual route so it wasn't difficult to guess the rest of the run. In all it was a straightforward run, my right glute was complaining (It was a right pain in the ass) in the last minute but I expected worse.

So here's a picture of my completed chart, it feels good to fiiiiinally tick the last box but a little less exciting than if I had done it when I was supposed to!

I had downloaded an 8 week 10k training plan, that's the next challenge. Can anyone recommend another group I can post on about this? I want to support this group where I can but wondered if other graduates were sharing their postgrad journeys elsewhere?

Also, and this is the most important bit - the bit I have looked forward to since April, how do I go about getting my shiny graduate badge?

Congratulations! well done for getting back to it after a short break - weather wise, it is definately nicer to run again at the moment! As already mentioned, quite a few of us hop over to Bridge to 10k to post there too, and there is even Marathon Running and Race Support (you don't have to be a marathon runner and it's nice to get properly inspired occasionally!๐Ÿ˜ฎ) Good luck with the next stage of your running journey๐Ÿ™‚. 10k is a fab distance to run once you have consolidated your 5k and want to try upping the distance a little.
