... water melon rocks. It is full or water and other goodness and really low in calories.

What other tips do you have?

Yep, eat any other melon but watermelon ๐Ÿ˜Š The galia and Canteloupe types are all together way more tasty and naturally sweet.

I freeze ripe banana slices and whizz em up with cocoa which turns into ice cream before your very eyes. Water or fruit juice in the ice cube tray with a berry or two in, instant refresher.

Ooh I like the sound of the banana whizz - off to freeze some banana right now!

I must try that. Sounds yum.

I'll try that today. Do you use no cream with it, just banana and cocoa? Would it work if I froze coconut yoghurt and blended it with frozen banana slices?

Put your running gear in the fridge or freezer before you go or wear wet

Run very early ( I do this)

drink lots but i dont favour freezing running bottle as brain freeze will make you feel odd

Run in the shade

Cucumber, lemon and mint cooler.. Low Cal and delicious! A favourite of ours

1 small cucumber, or 1/2 large,( peeled and chopped)

Juice of 2 lemons

Juice of 2 limes

Sprigs of fresh mint leaves

1 cup water

, ( add more if necessary)

1 tbs honey if you crave sweetness .. and some of you love your sweet goodness :)

1 cup crushed ice

In a food processor, blend cucumber, mint, lemon and lime juice and water. Blend until smooth. Pour into glass. Stir in honey, ( if used) and top with crushed ice. Garnish with mint leaves.

Easily doubled to make more..

Enjoy

Oh yum if I can find fresh mint leaves, I'll definitely have a go at that. We used to drink fresh mint tea when I lived in Morocco poured into cups in a long stream from a great height. It is very refreshing in the heat and no comparison to peppermint tea from teabags.

Coconut water - expensive but full of electrolytes, so really good for hydration. I'm not keen on it on its own but with a little orange juice makes such a refreshing drink! Definitely a good one for this hot, muggy weather. I'm sure I am recovering more quickly after my long runs since I started drinking this. Used to be a bit prone to a post run headache but not any moreโ˜บ

I like coconut water. That's a good drink to actually take with you on a run.

Freeze a wet flannel before you go out, then put it on the back of your neck when you get in again -bliss

Carry a wet flannel when you run, really does stop you getting too hot. Yesterday I wiped my arms and neck all the way home, my temp was back to normal by the time I got back - well, almost!

Dunk your whole head in water before you go out. It reduces your core temperature and keeps it low while you run. And I can't remember whose tip it was here but frozen grapes are good for longer runs, or any runs ๐Ÿ˜Š

The frozen grapes was probably Miles Y. he loved frozen peas from the freezer but I read on the bag that you shouldn't ๐Ÿ˜•
