I set out this morning and it was about 18C and getting hotter. So before leaving home I drank a cup of nettle & peppermint tea and 2 glasses of water. I also took a small bottle of water with me, first time I've ever carried any.
On getting home I drank another 2 glasses of water and over the following hour hand another two cups of tea. Was it excessive, no my body told me I needed it, so are you downing enough water, juice etc while running in this hot weather?

Have not drunk anything yet when its warm but might have to if it keeps up. Plan to do shorter run in this heat on Friday and have my Race for Life 5K on sunday!
I haven't run since the weekend (I'm not slacking - I'm tapering!) so haven't yet had to contend with the heat while running - however even without running I'm guzzling loads of water. A colleague who runs recommend Nuun tablets which you drop in your water bottle and they add salts that help you stay hydrated (and taste nice!) so I've been using those to try and get hydrated before my 10k on Sunday. They were also useful on a very hot Geography field trip today, and I reckon will be the ideal antidote for night leg cramp when on holiday in hot weather!
I took a bottle of water with me on my run for the first time this week. It was difficult to manoeuvre while running! I always try to drink loads of water during the day weather it's hot . I've been adding chia seeds to my morning glass of water. They're apparently good hydration for runners as they absorb 10-12 times of their own weight in water, amongst loads of other health benefits like omega-3s.
I've run in warm weather for a few months now and i find on days i know im running i make a concerted effort to drink more. Then i down a couple of glasses about an hour before and another one just before i walk out the door. Sure you get a little thirsty but you get used to it and keep running... then guzzle a half a litre when you get home... shower and drink another half a litre over the next hour.
