Welcome! You've taken the first step and c25k is a great way to kick-start weight loss. Keep posting, we want to hear about every run! Have you done the first one yet? (See, we'll also keep you accountable!)
Thanks for the support, I've done my first 25 mins alternating between jogging and walking. My dog is my companion so he benefits too. plenty more hours left in the day.
Welcome vivi - you've come to the right place to help with those aims - just be aware that running alone won't really shed those pounds, you need to combine it with a healthy eating programme. It will certainly help you shape up though!
Hi, I'm a newbie to the chat room. I started the couch to 5k in an effort to lose weight and get fit. I start week 5 tomorrow, which sounds a bit more daunting than the previous 4! I'm 59 and loving it!! So keep going anyone who's starting out, stick with it and you'll soon be gaining in confidence, self esteem and shaping up. Good luck everyone wherever you are in the programme and well done to those of you who have graduated. Fantastic achievement!!!!!
Thank you! Its really a boost to hear from and encourage others in the same boat. Good to feel you're not alone. I'm looking forward to tomorrow. It'll be my first day running outside, as I only recently got my mp3 player, so have had to run the podcasts on my pc, walking and jogging around the house and garden!! As the jogs have got longer, this has become more difficult, so glad to be able to stride it out tomorrow. I suspect I will find it quite difficult compared to the carpet and the lawn!lol!
Good luck. I did my first run on Thursday wasn't too difficult but lots of aches and pains for few days after! Doing my second one in morning a little nervous but inspired by reading the posts on here to do it. I myself use asthma a allergies and hip pain as a reason not to exercise but feeling slightly more motivated
