Any idea how to stop the near constant pins and needles that lead to numbness whilst jogging?? I've got jogging double lined socks and running trainers that suit my foot shape apparently so why am I still getting the pins and needles?!?!
I do appreciate that I'm VERY overweight. Maybe it's just that 😔
Laces or socks too tight? I have a pair of compression socks that are fine in winter, but with the extra heat in the summer my legs and feet balloon up and I get the numbness.
It could be how tight you lace your shoes, there are various ways to can depending on the problem. For now may be loosen a little and see how it goes.
If it is pins and needles in your feet, it is likely that the combination of your shoes, socks and lacing is causing tightness and interupting circulation.
As a first step, try loosening your laces and consider a different lacing pattern.
Ohh good advice. I googled and they were suggesting nerve damage!!! I'll try one of the lacing for wide feet. Thanks.
I've got a pair of Hilly twin skin socks that are a bit tighter than I like - they give me pins and needles, so it could be the socks - I find giving them a good stretch before putting them on solves the problem
It's often about the laces - check out the Google references to try out different ways of lacing your shoes. Now it's warmer, feet may be expanding more.
Yes Ive had this Tricia, my laces were too tight too ! xxx
I get this usually after about 6k a quick stop to loosen laces always works (I think my feet swell up while running so what's comfortable at the start isn't later)
I had this and as everyone else has said it was my laces. The bottom crossing near my toes was too tight (I have bunions eugh). I now lace from second hole up x
To mimic what others have said here and trust me I've been in the same position Im overweight and near the end of my run I get bad pins and needles to the point where my foot is numb I got told to losen my laces slightly and it did work so I know that sounds a bit silly cos (especially for me) the I've always thought that the shoes have to be on tight so they don't move around and cause blisters but I'm not getting it as bad now .... Oddly enough though the pins and needles was only in my right foot
It was a revelation to me when I changed the lace pattern in my running shoes to give me more expansion room (my toes used to tingle badly) and noticed such a change. I have now changed the lace pattern on all of my lace up shoes, so much more comfortable! Wide forefoot pattern works for me:
