I did it! I'm not sure if it was because of everyone's words of warning to not get complacent (which I heeded!) but it felt great - possibly the best run yet! I also covered slightly more distance than I have done before (passed the 3km mark for the first time) and, although I'm still super slow, I stepped up the speed a little on the final run. I'm a little bit worried that this is feeling easier than it should do? They say pride comes before a fall so let's hope I can keep focused and continue the positivity for the next few weeks without letting it get to my head too much!

Week 6 Run 1
Thats impressive melly .. well done yeah the forum is brilliant for all its advise and encouragement.. really compliments the programme.. in fact.. I honestly don't think it would be the same running experience without it? Hope you breeze week six.. well on your way x
Thanks! I 100% know that I wouldn't have got this far without the forum. I am someone who takes a lot from feedback so without the encouragement, motivation and opportunity to hear about other people's experiences I know I wouldn't have stuck with it. Just can't believe how good I feel running! I probably look ridiculous but I feel good and I'm learning that's more important!
Too right!! And thats something else positive about running once we get hooked our confidence builds and the less we care if anyone thinks otherwise.. we feel too good strong and I know I've learned so much about inner strength I didn't know I had x
Keep up the good work .. I'm on w9r2 next and sooo excited about GRADUATION week.. all being well
Well done melly4012 - you'v nailed a run that I struggled with- no need to doubt yourself now! You're energy/fitness levels are obviously increasing and you're on track to beat the rest of the week- and beyond- enjoy the buzz
Well done Melly !
Yes Week 6 can bite you on the bum after the euphoria of Week 5 Run 3 .
Sounds like you've got it sussed though , so nowt to worry about
Yes, this forum is a fantastic community, full of all abilities and lots of really helpful advice and the support is second to none !
Enjoy your journey, youre doing great ! xxx
poppypug 90ldfinch Thank you both - you are always commenting and supporting with your posts! I'm sure there will be a bad run in the next couple of weeks but each good one makes me even more positive to beat the gremlins and meet the physical challenges. I still can't believe I'm even doing this, once I graduated and I finally let people know that I 'run', they won't be able to believe it I'm sure!
Well done melly4012 you should be proud of what you've done. They'll be no fall don't worry. You seem to be using all the more experienced runners advice and succeeding 👏
Well done melly - that's impressive!! Agree 1000% that the support from this forum is just priceless, like u I have not told a soul that I'm doing this so coming onto here after a run is so important to me. Enjoy the rest of week 6 and best of luck for the rest 👏👏👏
I didn't tell anyone either, although my family had to know towards the end when the weekends also involved runs. They didn't realize the significance to me though - so this forum was fantastic support. You'll breeze it now, no reason you shouldn't if you're feeling strong. Have fun!
Hi Melly - I started week 6 yesterday. The 8 minute run was a bit of a slog but I did it! I'm away for a few days tomorrow and I'm going to take my running kit (can't quite believe it!)
Well done! If it's feeling a bit easy it must be because you're fitter and have more stamina. Keep it up chuck! 😊
