On the move again - W6 R1πŸ˜„

Two weeks after completing W5 and one week after an abandoned (W6 R1 due to niggley, achey problems with my foot) I'm finally back on it!

Decided I would try again earlier this evening, the having felt no pains or aches since last Sunday when I went swimming. Not sure if this was just coincidence or if swimming actually helped. I wasn't looking forward to running, wasn't even sure I wanted to try. I could quite easily have returned to my couch potato days.

I gave myself a pep talk, thought of the great sense of achievement felt at the end of each run, thought about my brand new pair of shoes just crying out to be worn and lastly, thought about that shiny graduation badge I covert so much.

I knew it wouldn't be easy, I've read all your posts about the struggles of W6 and my goodness you were so right. It was worse than I thought, not only did I struggle keeping my breathing under control, my legs felt more tired than on any previous run. I did finish, stopping just a few seconds during the walk phase to slacken my laces. My foot seems ok, a few twinges since I got home but I'm beginning to think I'm more than a little paranoid about it.

I will behave and rest tomorrow then, all being well, do R2 on Sunday.

Happy to be back 😊

Well done for getting back out there! You did it and that is the main thing. Graduation is not that far away - the shiny badge is well worth it😎

Thank you. It was touch and go for a while - shall I shan't I. Glad I went and glad I finished.

That was the run I found hardest but the other w6 runs were fine. What's the problem with your foot?

Nothing drastic wrong with my foot as far as I could tell. I think I over did things a couple of weeks back. I blame my Fitbit. I'd be running and keeping to rest days, so I thought. But...... on rest days to ensure 10000 steps or more I was jogging in place, indoors with no shoes. Felt a twinge in my ankle one day which I ignored and went for a run the next. After that the soreness was across the top of my foot. Was limping and painful for a day and then niggles. Was free of any signs last week but a niggle again on run today. All okay since I got back.

Well done you. I found week 6 a bit of a strange one. Good luck with run2 tomorrow.

Thank you. I survived R3 today but was very glad when it finished, had very little left in me and am dreading the 25 minutes of R3. I need my mojo back!
