Could you still go? It will only take half an hour and is a lovely evening out there (where I am anyway!).I battled through week 3 with an awful cold and the only time I felt good during that week was after the runs! Don't pressure yourself but if you feeling like you're missing it you could still make it happen?

Will definitely go tomorrow though! No way im missing another day!

It's good (bear with me) that you're annoyed at missing a run, because you're obviously enjoying the exercise.

Which goes to show you're not being lazy, you're being sensible. Don't be fed up, just let yourself recover from the cold a little bit, and I'm sure you'll enjoy the next run even more than if you'd ploughed on regardless.

Get better, and get out there, when your feeling properly ready. You've got a whole load of days ahead of you when you can go running- missing one today doesn't matter :)

Thanks, guess i was just feeling annoyed that i didnt go tonight. I didn't want to go and not be able to do it though.

Definitely good that i missed going, never ever thought i'd be saying that!

Positive attitude and sheer determination..is what it's all about!!

Keep up some cross training on rest days.. take an extra if you need.. slow and steady.. eat well.. and you WILL do this.. and love it more after every run.. wish you well. :)

Lovely evening for running, If just the sniffles you can still run, but when it's throat and chest you have to rest, hope your not off long..😊

That's the problem, it's been throat and coughing a lot!

Ah well there's always tomorrow!

On no Slinkyminky agree with 90ldfinch you're not being lazy. Sounds sensible if you are unwell. If you went and had a bad run you would put it off even more, perhaps indefinitely. I had to stop for few extra days when back played up. Do it tomorrow and finish the week on a high. Xxx

Thanks x

That's the thing, I didn't want to do it and have a bad run or end up having a massive coughing fit and not being able to do it.

Tomorrow is another day x

Oh and it's a Friiiiidddaaay and a bank holiday!

Yeah go get it and grin your way into a lovely long weekend!😆

Runny nose is ok but coughing is a bit tricky. You can always blow your nose on the way round. I reckon running makes your nose run more so helps get it sorted out quicker. Coughs though are the devil. If you feel like running then you can.

I hope you feel much better by tomorrow. Take a big hankie out with you! I'm never without mine

I've had a similar experience this week. I had some excellent runs Saturday and Monday but later on the Monday a cold started😡 Not a really bad one but enough to spoil running. I did 30 gentle minutes of running on Wednesday with a plan of doing my long run today on my day off and was planning to be out by 6am but can't face that so I'm compromising and going for a run later. The worst thing about having a cold is deciding when it's best to rest. The best advice is that it's ok to run with symptoms above the neck, runny nose etc. I know the feeling of guilt about missing a run but with a cough it's best to rest. Better that than a horrible coughing fit. Hope it shifts soon👍

bet its not as bad as my man flu ;-)

slinky joking apart if you have a temperature its good advice not to run

the cold will pass and you will find that your fitness levels have not decreased in the short period you are sensibly taking off to get over your cold
