Graduation and first 5k

I graduated on Friday and have committed to running 3 times a week as a continuation of my health regime. I have a 5k in Liverpool - my initial goal - and wanted to make sure I had at least one 5k under my belt before the big day.

So I planned a route on Mapometer and off I plodded yesterday morning at 5:30am without Laura for the first time, (I just put a comedy podcast on and my Endomondo app to clock in every 0.5k)

By the time I realised it I had done a full 5k in the not too shabby time of 31:54! I'm not a time-queen but have normally been going about 4.7k under Laura's 30 minutes so it wasn't a massive jump but I was surprised how "ok" I felt upon stopping and feel like I could've gone on for hours! (read: minutes)

The system works folks!

Ahhh well done and many congratulations.

Best of luck for your upcoming 5K. Have you considered Parkrun?

Good stuff. Beach running is a great workout but it sure is energy sapping.
