A refreshing run in the rain, need wipers on my glasses, should I stick with 25 min for the next 2 runs or push for longer ? I had running left in me at the end.
W7 R1: A refreshing run in the rain, need wipers... - Couch to 5K
W7 R1
Stick with it... If it ain't broke..don't fix it?
I would just keep on doing what you have been... get there by the correct route and keep it slow and steady
Stick to the plan. You run the risk of injury if you push too far, too fast. Your body has to get used to running and needs time to build up the stamina, muscle, lung capacity etc. But a great sign that you still have power in you at the end of 25 mins! You're doing really great!
Stick with the plan - you've only a few more runs to go and then you can please yourself!
Quickest route to the injury couch is over training so just treat that body with respect!
It's up to you! I must admit by week 7, I wanted to do more, so I kept running twice to 5k just to see if I could! Got back on the programme after that and avoided a silly injury. Being sensible is best but I got over confident!
No, just stick to the programme, and don't even think about trying to reach 5k, just do the time for now, and well done!
I did a sneaky end of 25 minute run add-on of run/walk to get to 5k in week 7 and did a non-stop plod to 5k on one run this week, week 8. It's maybe not recommended physically but as long as you take it slow and steady it is hugely beneficial mentally!
I'm planning on just doing the prescribed runs in week 9 as I don't want to jeopardise anything being so close to graduation but those earlier sneaky runs have really boosted me for this final bit
