It’s funny how the first five minutes of the longer run 🏃‍♀️ feel so much harder. You feel like I can’t do this, and then you remind yourself that you can. That you have put in all this hard work to get to this stage, so why don’t you think that you can’t do this? You give yourself a mental shake, and just get on with it. I enjoy 😉 running so much now. You just need to push pass the little devil, telling you can’t do it.

Enjoy 😉 and everyone can do it.

Well done you,,, the Toxic Ten ( or 5 ), is well documented.... sometimes it is there, sometimes not, sometimes lasts much longer than 10 minutes...The ogres or gremlins that sneak into our heads are clever, but we are strong and we know they soon get left behind us!

Time to relax now into these lovely longer runs.... let the newly forming legs find their own happy pace...

I have been just the same for every run, the first five minutes I am huffing and puffing but after that the desire to complete the run takes over. Just completed w5r3 and found my pace faster at the end than the beginning. I still find I spend first part saying I can’t do this and the next part saying yes I can!

Thank you for link. That’s interesting 🤔 to know, I will remember that. I do get that heavy breathing bit. I have to reset my breathing a few times until I am set.

Ha I had that this week (week 7) in runs 1 and 2 ...between 5 and 10 minutes when my body yells "what are you doing? Not today...you won't make this"

Reaching the half way point I found I was in rhythm and could just keep going. Today's run 3 I knew I could do it so no gremlins.

Not what you're looking for?
