It's amazing what buying a new pair of running shoes has meant..and I'm wondering if anyone else has felt the same? I promised myself I'd get a decent pair once I'd finished wk6, and it's taken me to wk8r2 to pluck up the courage...
Firstly overcoming a huge mental barrier of going into a running shop (felt a bit of a fraud) and worried about being judged (you a runner? Look at the size of you, haha) never mind using a treadmill in front of lots of 'proper' runners and in a shop window as well!!
However getting to this point of c25k has made me realise I'm made of sterner stuff. Managed treadmill without gasping for breath (I know, I know, it's only 30s or so, but felt a lot longer!) or falling over and shop staff were lovely and encouraging..so glad I did it. Feel very proud of myself! My knees are delighted with me as well.
Not sure the advertised 'turbo boost' ever materialised on this morning's inaugural run (user end failure??) but the bucketing down rain certainly provided a good christening for them.
Only 4 more runs until graduation, and then looking forward to getting another 500 or so miles out of them π

They look lovely! And well done for getting over your fear of running shops. Six months on, I still feel like a bit of a fraud entering them and getting on that treadmill in public takes nerves of steel...π¬
Hello there, not a stupid question and I'm not sure yet what difference they will make for me. I got them mainly because I suffer from a knee problem and wanted to make sure I'd got footwear that helped, or at least didn't do any damage, as I'm doing longer runs. They do feel good though!
Lol, I so identify with your feelings about the shop - I too felt a fraud & dreaded the treadmill ( I can't balance on the wretched things)! To make matters worse my dear husband ( who is a good runner) thought the whole idea of me on a treadmill was hilarious and stood in the shop taking photos- mind it was a good distraction from the spectators on the other side of the window!! Despite such impediments I bought my shoes and love using them. Enjoy your running π
Thank you for sharing your experience, and the impromptu photo shoot! At least I didn't have to go through thatπ I hope you're running many happy miles in those shoes
They look fantastic you definitely deserve them. I too bought myself some new shoes at the same point as you π I even bought some running clothes (all the gear and no idea) I used to say but guess who just graduated, I must have some idea. I will be looking out for your graduation post ππ½ππ½ββοΈππ½ββοΈππ½ββοΈ
