Shopping trip into town today and I walked away with a flash pair of brand new running shoes.
I was going to let me tight Yorkshire side win through, get the gait analysis done, try on shoes and then find them cheaper on t'internet.
But somewhere from deep, deep inside, came this annoying voice that said, 'pay the money'. High street shops are struggling because they cant compete with the internet. But the internet cant do gait analysis, it cant let you run on a treadmill before you decide to buy them. It cant talk you through questions. And we lose all of that if these shops close.
So I bit down and handed over the well earned wad of cash and walked out a happy man. Next time, I'll shop on the internet
Now looking forward to trying them out on my run tomorrow!
Happy running everybody

100% worth it Jacca. And its fascinating to try on different styles of running shoe and actually see on video what a difference it makes to how you run.
I would totally recommend it and it did steer me in the direction for the right kind of shoe.
When I had it done in October, the camera focussed only on the knee down, especially concentrating on the ankles and feet. Been running in a pair of ON trainers since and I love them.
Nice treads! Enjoy on your run and let me know if they make a lot of difference! I am thinking about getting a gait analysis done too, not sure where to go for it, the only local one I can find is a proper chiropodist and costs a bit! That is the problem with North Devon, just don't have the variety you get in towns.
Thank you. So far, despite a house and an office at work being full of sick people (literally everybody in my office), I've so far managed to stay germ and virus free. Just really hoping I can continue that good luck until the end of week 9!
I did start at another one... the one that has stuff that runners need! But I was in there quite a while without even being acknowledged. So I walked out.
I had my gait analysis done and bought some new shoes, they have made all the difference, went to a local runners shop and had one to one attention. On the internet would have bought shoes to match my outfit, rather than the best shoes for my feet... I have peripheral neuropathy so need shoes that don’t rub and with good grip
Nice shoes! I'm planning a trip to Up and Running in Bristol tomorrow. I'm still full of cold but hopefully I'll come back with some nice new shoes to help avoid a recurrence of sacroiliac joint issues when I start back. It seems only fair to buy the shoes where you have the gait analysis although it's always tempting to buy cheaper online - probably best not to search to see how much less you could have paid!
