I did it!!!

I did it!!!

Not a big poster but have completed the 9 weeks today! I put a pair of trainers on the 4th of January and have got up every second day thru rain, gale force winds, snow, ice and occasionally dry sunny days! I'm hoping to do my first parkrun on Saturday. I think I might actually like running! Lots more weight to lose & a tortoise rather than a hare but we can all do it!

  • Fantastic, Well done Fatcj!

  • Thanks 😊

  • Brilliant! Obviously quietly determined! Enjoy your parkrun. How satisfying is that graduate badge!

  • Amazing! I'm terrified of the parkrun but I've come this far!! I actually don't care if I come last - it'll still be my pb!

  • Congratulations! Fantastic achievement :) Happy running :)

  • Thank you 😊

  • Congratulations!

I hope you feel very proud - it takes true determination to keep running through the cold and rain - lots of lovely summer running adventures to look forward to now!

  • I hope so! I'm running in Scotland so not sure how many "summer" days I'll get πŸ˜‚

  • The gales and rain are a big put off for me so well done.

  • Congratulations!

  • Congratulations - another runner sent off into the big wide world after doing this programmeπŸ‘ Enjoy going solo. What are your plans (apart from park run)?

I'm about a week behind you and looking forward to the next 3 runs.

You must be determined if you ran every other day for the whole programme - sometimes I need an extra rest day (or something else gets in the way).

    See you around!😈

  • I'm just going to try and stick to three 30 min runs a week for the moment. Might try the c25k + podcasts. I'm going to try and find some different routes as well -slightly bored of the two routes I do at the moment!

  • Well done fatcj. Its no mean feat keeping going through our winter weather especially when its lovely and warm in bed!!!

Whats your plans for the future?

  • Just to enjoy my running really. Going to try and stick to 3 runs a week. A friend has mentioned doing the race for life together so might do that. Might try the c25k+ podcasts.

  • Yaaay well done! Amazing job

  • Congratulations on graduating! Fantastic achievement and always great to welcome another runner!☺

  • Yay! We can compare stories tomorrow. After I've had cake. It will definitely be a cake moment!

  • Go on then i'll have a piece of cake too. Although it will be coffee and bacon butty time still after crossing the finish line. ;)

  • Congratulations!!!! I don't think I'm parkrun material yet (I'm week 8) as I think all the marshals would go home before I finish....but one day maybe!!

  • I don't think I am either but hey someone has to come last and I'm beating everyone tucked up in their beds!

  • Awesome! Way to go!

  • Cohgratulations cj. You are a star. :)

    Happy running.

  • Well done.. great dedication to the "every other day" rain or shine... that's what works! :-)

  • I just knew that if I didn't do it every second day I'd find excuses and wouldn't do it. Turns out I'm quite determined when I put my mind to something πŸ˜€

  • Brilliant, brilliant, brilliant. Your enthusiasm has bought a smile to my face. Hope you get more sunny days from now on. Enjoy the park run.

  • πŸ˜€ thanks! I think my non running friends are getting a little bored of my enthusiasm!
