Week five Run three is under my belt

I've finally done it! Ran for twenty minutes solid and boy did it nearly finish me off! I got to about ten minutes in (I'm guessing I like to listen to my own music and I know the playlist pretty well now) and I hit the wall but I kept going much to my brain's dismay and managed to finish the run!

I have to say I'm feeling pretty good about myself and proud that I managed it and it's given me that extra boost to make it to the end. Time for the dreaded week six that I've been hearing about but after tonight's run I'm pretty sure I can get through it and finish the programme and become a C25K graduate in no time.

Thank you! It is considering two weeks ago I thought running for 3 minutes a second time was difficult! Such a big difference in a short space of time

Well done well on your way now :)

It's very inspiring reading this, especially as W5R3 is next for me either Saturday or Sunday. Well done you, it's great to really feel as if you can make it to graduation isn't it?

It is really great. I started off on couch to 5k to help shift a few pounds but along the way I've found I actually enjoy running although the thought of the 20 minute run didn't exactly thrill me!

My advice is to keep going...you can do it. I started to split my run up into streets nearing the end. Not sure where you run and if that will help or not but if you're struggling just try and split it up a bit and you'll be fine.

Good luck!

Yay! Very well done. :) that run is a very special one and you smashed it. Good luck with W6, you'll be fine, take it super slow!

Thank you! I know exactly what you mean by it being a special one. Isn't it funny how something so insignificant as a run can improve your mood and outlook on a few things? Thank you for the advice on week six. I've got a few days off because I'm going on a weekend away so I hope my fitness doesn't go on a weekend away too!

Well done, completing that run is a massive turning point in the programme , I think.

Week 6 IS a bit tricky, but just keep doing what youve been doing so far. I think its because it goes back to the walk/runs but try not to worry too much, you can do it !

Good Luck youre doing great , keep going ! :-) xxx

Thank you so much! Your words of encouragement are going to help me through it. Mind over matter and all that xx

Well done, you should feel really proud of yourself, for me it was definitely a case of mind over matter, I was just too determined that I was going to do it today and I did.

Well done! It is definitely mind over matter although I will admit during the last 30 seconds or so I was willing it to end but apart from that I just kept telling myself that I could do it and I did! We did!

Great news lochness. :) Yes that run is a turning point. You can definately do the rest and graduate now. Just in time for spring. :) well done.

It really is a battle with the brain, isn't it! The programme is so well structured that week 6 isn't half so bad after week 5.

Good for you! 👟👟

Well done, it's great beating week five isn't it. Don't worry about week 6 at all just slow and steady and it's not as hard as that last run.
