I feel a bit dissapointed that i didn't manage to finish, i got my phone out and attempted to check how long i had left and i accidently restarted it, i didn't know how long i had done so far but worked out 10 minutes after i got home, it was getting dark so going to start again on Tuesday i feel much better for running though

The first run is always the hardest. Keep it really, really slow. Success is stepping out that door - ten minutes is just fine. Many of us repeated runs through the program.

The main thing to remember is that you went out there and did something. Next time you go out, it will seem less daunting because you know you can do it. Try not to worry about getting to the end of the podcast, just worry about getting to the end of each run and then it becomes much more manageable. The first few weeks of the programme build you up very slowly, but have patience =]

Don't worry. You got out and got started, that's the scariest bit by far. Just get back out when you can and in each podcast just do one run at a time and as slowly as you need to.

I always try to think about all the stressful things I would be doing if I wasn't out on my run, that helps me enjoy them much more :D

Let us know how your next run goes, good luck!

Thanx so much to the three of you, i admit feeling myself warm up was nice during this winter lol will get back on the horse Tuesday afternoon =)

Dont sweat it to much , you went out and you ran so 2 big pluses :)

The main thing is to be able to complete each timed run so take each one slowly and you will be just fine .

Good luck for Tuesday :)

I decided to try again today and have my rest tomorrow and managed to do the 20 minutes ty so much for all the encouragement!

Hello! Look at what you did do and not what you didn't. Well done for getting your trainers on and getting out. It's not easy to start running, especially if, like me, you've tried to avoid it. Someone told me the hardest part is getting out of the door and I agree. You did that so you're already winning!
