Week 6 Run 1 first morning run! ouch

Just got back from run 1 and it was harder work, not impossible but a bit trudgy. SLOW and steady. Hips and knee were achy. I think I am an evening person. I get no sleep and breastfeed all night so I feel dehydrated and tired in the morning. I think it takes me the day to stretch out (i'm constantly chasing my children) and to hydrate. I drink lots of water when I get up but didn't want to today incase I needed to wee.

Anyway all done. Good point I had on grey stripy running leggings, beautiful purple jacket and china blue top. So looked the part even if i didn't feel it! X

Most people find this a difficult run, i know i did! Runs 2 &3 will be much better - slow and steady!

Yes I found this one quite difficult. Seems odd really as the run before is a solid 20 mins and this one is broken up with a couple of walks and less running overall! Maybe it’s just better not to stop once you get going! I’m spurred on by reading people’s W6R3 triumphs! 😁

yes really looking forward to next 2 runs. today was 4 minutes longer so maybe that has something to do with it? Keep in touch x

Amazing that you can run and look after tiny ones like that! I’ve only just started and my youngest is 5!!

Well done you, take it easy!

Thank you X just go them both to bed so going to RELAX!!

Hey you are a superhero doing this especially with breastfeeding too. The downsides of running without correct hydration are very well documented and that can add to the feeling of fatigue. But as a lizard by nature, I also appreciate the worries of the ‘wee’ issues - it’s a difficult balance. But could you drink more before going to bed? the mantra on water is drink today for running tomorrow....

But superhero - you got out, slow and steady is all you need, there are no prizes for being a Usain Bolt here. And as you say you looked the part. Looking it often helps you become it.

Well done you - what a star

What a lovely reply thank you Jan XX Yes I must remember to drink the night before, I forgot that so thanks for the tip. My bladder control is not what it was after 2 kids so i cannot hold pints and pints and don't want to be squatting mid run!!

I think looking good helps, I have more confidence now that I can run a bit so more clothes are needed XX

Looking good absolutely helps, I now follow ju-ju- and her red lipstick trick. Putting that on just before I go out , makes me think I am a hot runner.... I am not, but every little trick helps!

What a good idea, I wear red lipstick all the time and bright pink etc as I had my colours done a few years ago and i am a jewel winter. But when I run I never wear makeup?! so next run fushia or red! X

Just slow down...keep it slow and steady..these are runs that you relax into:)

Looking the part is half the battle.. keep it gentle.. and very, very well done you... super Mama:)

Ah thank you Old Floss, you were in my head today as I scuttled past a girl who seemed to be walking as fast as I was running! Xx I'm doing the next one in evening so looking forward to relaxing into it X
