I've just completed the first run of week one! I'm so glad that I got to the end of the podcast, at one point I didn't think I'd make it. However I stuck at it and did it! Extremely pleased that I actually got out and ran even though I did feel a little embarrassed when I ran past people.
Next run Sunday!

Well done on your first run! Keep going and in now time the embarrassment will disappear. It took me weeks before I plucked up the courage to start the program.
Welcome to the programme and forum, Rachel. So nice to see you here, and well done on getting out there and running/walking/running/walking etc
Very soon you'll appreciate that other folk out there really don't notice us...unless, of course, they are mildly embarrassed by their own continuing 'couch' status .... Or totally wowed by our athletic excellence (I'm still waiting for that response LOL)
Enjoy yourself and the feelings of fitness and happiness which will take over very soon, and lots of luck on Sunday. Keep blogging too, this community is the friendliest and most supportive on the Internet, they'll keep you encouraged through any tough times and love to celebrate your successes!
Hi Rachel, I think getting out there and running for the first time is the most difficult thing of all... so well done for doing it! I've just finished week 2 and am enjoying the programme so far as well as already noticing some benefits. I run early in the morning so I hope too many people don't see me and don't feel like a 'real' runner yet, but I'm hoping that will come!
Well done completing your first run! Any feelings of self-consciousness will diminish as time goes by...the hardest part is taking the first step...which you have already done
Congratulations on your first run. I didn't venture out for my first one. I ran round and round the garden!! We have a big garden but it was a bit monotonous so well done.
Well done YOU! Congratulations for starting C25K and also double congratulations for finishing the first run!! You can do this, so keep faith in the podcasts, they are great! When you do your final run in time to come, you will look back and be surprised that you did it at the end, at least I was!
Good luck to you for your runs!!
Well done for getting started. I tend to go early in the morning when there are few people about simply because of the comments I've had from many of them. It's my health at stake here. That's the important thing, isn't it? We are all doing this for our health in one way or another. I, too, am extremely grateful for the support of this community.
Well done! I am a new runner too. I am just starting week 3 and about to go and do run 1 Just waiting for the rain to go as its pouring down here in Suffolk! This site is brilliant and will give you lots of advice and support. You will be amazed at what your body can do. Stick with the programme and keep blogging. I find writing blogs really helps me to focus on what I have achieved.x
