Hope everyone had a great Christmas! Just a quick update to say I completed the 3rd run from week two today so on to week 3 next week. I did one of this weeks runs on Christmas Day- I'd never thought I'd be doing that this time last year. Still feeling really good after every run and really enjoying being outdoors in the cold fresh air. This Christmas has been sad because of my relationship issues and I have felt running has helped me feel a bit better, certainly during the runs and afterwards. Hope I can keep the progress up for week 3 so wish me luck!!!

Sounds like you are doing fab! And I really believe that running helps us emotionally, so I think it's great that you are still finding time for your runs despite those tricky times. Good luck.☺

Thank you!! Really nice to hear some encouragement me- I can tell you there were days I didn't want to get out of bed let alone go running but I made myself go for a run and then when I got back I felt my day went better because I'd gone running!

Well done !

Yep I agree, running is brilliant for our emotional well being . I feel a lot stronger mentally since I started . Things that used to bother me dont really faze me as much these days.

Keep going, youre doing great and I hope they are easier times ahead for you xxx

Thanks so much for the sweet comment!! Means a lot, I'm hoping running can become a way for me relax and escape for stress.

Feels like I'll never feel better at the moment, just trying to take things hour by hour and day by day which is a cliche but a good cliche!

Xxx

Hope you're ok! I have just starte dweek2, also ran on Christmas Day, and am being motivated running with my son. He's 31 and slim and just loping along, and I am 54 and BMI 27 and really pushing. I do think the running will help with my mood and stress levels, and hope it will help my son with his depression. You are doing a great thing by being so positive about the C25k when you have relationship stuff going on - stick at it.

That comment meant a lot- honestly thank you so much. That's so nice you're doing this with your son, speaking as someone who has battled depression previously I think it's great he's doing this running programme when he's feeling depressed, I struggled to even get out of bed. Things are so tough just now but I don't want to go back to my depressed state and I hope if I persevere with running it'll help! Hope you're finding running helps you too!!

As they say one step at a time. Finding time in the day to go for a run is good for you and allows you to focus on something other than everyday life. As well as feeling much fitter I feel much better in myself and I'm sure you're feeling the same. Good luck to you and I hope 2016 is a good one.

All the best.

Yeah I've really enjoyed how I feel after a run- it's also been great being outside in the fresh air! Thanks for the positivity and I hope you have a great 2016 too!

Wow, good for you starting just before all the Christmas food, brilliant though as it will keep health in your mind. Have u managed to avoid the rain and wind ok? This is my first running winter but I have enjoyed it so far, even when I got off the beaten track and sloshed in the mud.m I try to stay clean but it's hard to avoid so many puddles and the fallen twigs. On to week 4! Great progress 😀

Hi thanks for the nice comment! I have avoided wind and rain so far- amazing considering its December! I've managed to fit my run days in when the weathers been dry so that's made it easier to keep going!

Sorry to hear that things have been difficult at home. I find running definitely helps with releasing some worry and tension.

Thanks for the nice comment! Yeah I'm hoping that running will be a positive way of managing stress and hopefully feeling happier- I have found it to help right after a run but in time hope it starts to last for longer!!!
