Finished week 1 (plus an extra day) so after 4 runs over 10 days I'm ready to move on to wk2 I think. No idea what this will entail as just going to start Laura up and do as she says - wish me luck
Wk 1 complete: Finished week 1 (plus an extra... - Couch to 5K
Wk 1 complete
Wish you lots of luck...
I am on Week 6 Run 3 tomorrow, so a way to go yet, but I remember my first week very well. Just follow the lovely Laura and do exactly as she says... I cannot believe I mad it to this point, and it is totally down to following her instructions!
If anyone had told me then that I would be able to run as I am at this moment in time, I would not have believed them... Stick with it and just take it slow and steady, it works for me. My husband has not christened me The Snail for nothing!
Yes just queue up the podcast and go. Don't worry about future runs, just the one immediately in front of you
Go nice and slowly. Have fun!
Well done. You are doing well and excited about running already. Just b careful because 3 runs a week are recommended - run, rest, run, rest, run, 2 X rest. Think of the rest days as being equally important as run days. Your legs will increasingly need to repair as you go through the programme. It is horrible to have to take a rest day because running feels amazing but it is going to be challenging in later weeks to be able to run for longer time periods and the rest days fuel you to succeed. Injury would be horrible, stopping us altogether so maybe if you are desperate to move try another exercise (walking, swimming, cycling) that is less impacting on the legs - I look after my legs, treat them well to a rest and they got me to graduation and beyond!!
thanks for that, i am a cyclist really and have only decided to try running for a change as cycling in the winter is so unbelievably horrible, the roads are full of rubbish and even tho i ride a fair few miles each week, running is quicker and actually less hassle. i'll see how the first run of week 2 goes - fingers x'd
My husband cycles and hates it in the winter too, rain and wind seem worse on a bike! Well done, hope u enjoy it!
Wishing you luck, although it doesn't sound like you need it. 95% perspiration, 95% determination and the other 10% is enthusiasm mixed with a tiny bit of luck - I know that makes you 200%, but that's the joy of C25K!
Well done and keep it up.
Great work, I remember week one well, for me the struggle was learning to pace myself. Also I noticed how my fitness was improving between each run.
I am half way through C25K run myself and its been a real learning curve I am looking forward to seeing what the rest of the coming weeks will bring! So welcome and all the best!
Woo Hoo !
Well done ,youre on your way now and theres no stopping you !
Slow and steady is the way, don't worry if you have to repeat any runs . Just keep going , youre doing great ! xxx
