I'm over the moon that I managed to reach my goal of running 5k in the Rock 'n' Roll event in Las Vegas - the whole reason I took up the Couch to 5k programme.
I managed to do it in 37 minutes, which is the furthest and fastest I've ever run. It was hard work at times, but my reason for running (to raise money for my cousin who had her life totally changed last year as a result of a devastating reaction to her nut allergy), my partner (himself a marathon runner, who thoughfully ran at my slower pace), the support I had back home and the sights of Vegas by night got me through, even to finish with a sprint!
Now getting over the jet lag, but if anyone fancies a fun weekend combined with a 5k, 10k, half or marathon - I can definitely recommend Vegas!
Thanks also for the support and inspiration I have received via this forum and to 'relentless' Laura for keeping me going πβοΈππππΈπΎπ π¬π§πΊπΈ
