Week 8 run 1 - feeling slow

So I went a whole 7 days without doing a run after week 7 because lots of life stuff got in the way. I was therefore a bit nervous about doing the 28 min run after the gap. It went fine in the end. My phone stopped working so I started the run again after 9 mins (maybe that means I ran more than 28 mins!!). The only thing is I feel I am running very slowly all the time but then my stats say I'm running faster and faster - so weird! Anyway else have this experience?

Can't say I do, I feel like I'm speeding along, but sadly not lol! Well done on your progress, a week off won't hurt, in fact you will often have more energy... xx

Please don't worry about speed. Grow slowly! Take time to really build up body strength before putting the hammer down. It takes 18 months to 2 years to become a runner and in that time you build up your whole body to support your running legs and you achieve that by slow running and cross training. Swim, cycle, walk, do strength work so that as you get faster your body can cope.

Your feet, ankles, knees, shins, hips take a battering when sprinting so it makes sense to be prepared so you prevent injury further down the line
