Week 8, run 1

Well writing this is new to me. But I just wanted to share or just say well done to myself in public, I'm not sure! I did week 8, run 1 today. Woke at 7am looked out the window and thought "it's going rain" but still went for a run along the beach. Yes it rained. So what I had a hood!! It was hard going I can't lie but what kept me going is reading others posts and knowing I've done 25 mins before and how far I've come. I too really struggled with week 1 and until Laura and this podcast have never made it to week 2 of a running programme. Yes I wanted to stop but then remembered I've only got next week to finish before I graduate. Yes I'm slow but I managed to do that last minute a bit faster. I'm not convinced I run faster than people walk but boy was I sweating so it must be improving my health. I can't wait to be able to run 30 mins easily. Just roll on that day. Thanks for reading!

Hi jojohove! That was a lovely blog. I was brought up by the sea and still miss it. It would be bliss to run along the beach! WELL DONE for getting so far in the programme. You deserve to feel so proud of yourself! Only one more week! Good Luck!

Well done jojohove, it's a great feeling isn't it? I did my Week 8 Run 1 last night (and am also a life-long "I don't do running" objector), so am right there with you.

Oh wow, Jojohove, that's fantastic. Well done! I've just done week 4. Week 5 starts on Wednesday. I must say you're all giving me lots of hope and inspiration. I have (only just - but it still counts) managed the 5 minute runs (jog/hobble) of week 4 and I'm already scared of week 5! I can't imagine doing 8 minutes, let alone w 5 r 3. I'll be thinking of you as I'm puffing, panting and shouting "come on legs!" Well done and thank you very much for your lovely post. 8-D

Kafen thank you for you're kind words too. Week 5 scared me but trust the process it works. Just slow down if you need too. Enjoy and let us know how it goes.
