W7D2 Mixed terrain run.

Today I decided to change my run completely and ran from work to my car via paths, fields and gravel. The ran was very hard on the paths and it felt like I was plodding along but I just kept going to my music. I am looking forward to getting back to field running on Thursday morning. And then Saturday I am looking forward to a beach run. However, I am not gonna put pressure on myself so won't be doing that as W8R1. I will just put music on and run for fun. (Never thought I would say the words RUN FOR FUN!!)

Sounds like you enjoyed it though! A great way to finish work as well.

I haven't ran on grass yet 😐

It's something I need to attempt at some point. All of my C25K runs have been on pavements so far. Definitely need to try running on grass as I think my first parkrun will be on grass.

Sounds like you have really got into running :-)

I usually run on pavements and a while back I did 5k on mixed terrain and found the grass bits pretty tough! Not tried a beach run yet though.

I love running on the tracks, go to a country park and run through the woods. Need to watch out for tree roots though and stones and sometimes the paths tilt to the side which is not great for the ankles. Right now, just playing safe with my legs - first time at a running group on Thursday plus Saturday parkrun. Need to be in peak condition LOL. Julie

I found running on the paths was quite jarring on my hip/knee and ankle joints. I am a heavy footed person so maybe that is why? When I run on grass I don't get the jarring.

Not what you're looking for?
