Yesterday, I had my first run after graduation. I left the house with coach Jes talking to me through the NRC app while setting off in the pouring rain.
The coach talked much more than Yasmin Evans, but I do miss her already. However, the talking helped me focus more on what she was saying and less on how far I had to run. I'm thinking now that podcasts might be better than music, or at least, help mix things up a bit
My run was a pure pleasure and so much better than my week 9 run 3. I feel very positive and excited now about continuing to run. I felt good all the way through and inadvertently ran a little longer than I intended, doing a full 5k in just over 33 minutes. So I'm very happy with that and will be looking to get this down to 30 minutes in July.
I'm looking forward to my next run tomorrow and I am fighting off the urge to go today instead. Would 4 or 5 runs a week be bad at this stage?

Well done, sounds like you had a great time. 5k in just over 33 minutes is brilliant. There's lots of posts about consolidation, I'd say you could get away with 4 times a week every so often, but..... You must still take a day off between runs, you've only been running for 9 weeks so far and the advice is not to run on consecutive days for at least 6 months, better still a year. All your runs don't have to be 30 minutes, make one a bit shorter, mix it up a bit..
Thank you! Yes, it was a great run and felt like there was no pressure on me. Just good fun Many thanks for the advice, that sounds good to me, so I think I will stick to 3 runs a week this year and probably well into next. Maybe increase it on my graduation anniversary Mixing it up sounds good too and fits nicely with ju ju's magic plan. All the best
SueAppleRun is right... do still take the rest days... and be aware that the new running legs are new.... they need inuring and encouraging as you move on...
Hopefully our new Consolidation post. coming out on Saturday, will give you some great ideas for moving on ! Well done you!
