It's true. Twice a week I go with a couple of friends who are just as enthusiastic about running as me. Sometimes we do the odd park run. The weight is falling off. I might soon even get into the normal weight range. Well I haven't been in that for a good few years now so that's going to feel great too.
All positive, more energy, looking much slimmer, can eat more or less what I want. I think the Autumn weather is much nicer to run in than the summer month. Although had a slight panic about not wanting snow so that I don't need to miss a run.
To think I'd never run any distance in my life before and now. Love it. Wish I'd started sooner.

I couldn't agree more! i've been running regularly for 18 months & I really wish I had done C25K years ago. It's amazing how much life changes with running isn't it?
I am also loving this time of year to run in. It really is so beautiful! I also have to confess about feeling exactly the same about snow ...and I LOVE the snow usually!
I know how you feel. On my run yesterday I felt so good I was waving my arms in the air in time to the music with a stupid big grin on my face! I'm sure I looked mad as a hatter but I didn't give a monkeys. All I could think about was how much I love running.
Running buddies are G R E A T, they provide motivation, company, help, friendship, etc. etc. They take away the loneliness of a Long Distance Runner (5 K is quite a long distance isn't it?)
I used to run on my own and from time to time I do. But much prefer the company, we don't put ourselves under and pressures which keeps the running great. I done some pb's and that helps.

I like running on my own! You can suit yourself then, and run as far or as little as you wish on a whim as the mood takes you. You can veer off at a tangent if you see a trail you fancy or you want to run past shop windows and have a neb.
You can have the best of both worlds though and joining a group is a good idea
I did in the beginning but then got a little freaked out once or twice meeting the odd folks and just ended up feeling vulnerable so now prefer to go with some friends. I can see the benefit of having the odd run on your own. But at this moment in time I love the company.
