Hi everyone. Although I'm not a newbie to the site I have never actually posted before.
I did the Couch 2 5k plan in preparation for my first 5k race for life back in July and I managed to run the whole race in 37 mins.
Since then I haven't ran at all. Without the race to focus on I lost my enthusiasm. So I have signed up for The Great Manchester Run 10k next May. My journey now begins again. I am going to restart the c25k programme as I feel I need to build up confidence again.
Wish me luck

Hi Elaine that was a good time for your 5K then life happens, a good idea to re start C25K , you may find that you can do the earlier weeks more comfortably . your body will remember
Good look with your new journey and on achieving your goal at the 10 K
Thanks Rob. I thought pushing myself with a longer distance might be a little too much after only competing in one 5k but I think once the plan is completed taking it that much further might just be what I need π
I'm sure you'll find you haven't lost as much fitness as you think you have, but starting from the beginning of C25K and building up is a good plan. And having something to aim for is even better!
I'm sure you'll be fine, but good luck anyway, and keep posting to let us all know how you're getting on - it will give you a bit more motivation and encouragement and also help to inspire others.
It is good to have a focus Elaine π I did my first half marathon in September and straight away signed for a 10k for November think it's easy to slip back without goals. However doesn't have to be races join our challenges see realfoodieclub for them they're motivation π I've set goals to run 3 times per week and incorporate strength training too X good luck and let us know if you need a nudge xx
Well done Ellie for giving it another go ! I'm planning on doing the GMR next year too ! It's a fantastic event , you will really enjoy it !
