First be careful... rest days are there for good reasons... one is to protect you from a high risk of a muscle tear. One of the others is that it allows your leg muscles to develop more.
Well done on your progress so far, I’d love to see you complete this, rather than sitting injured and having to start over in a few months.
That is a valid point i will have to take that into consideration. Due to starting netball for beginners and other commitments with my children im finding i can only do mon, thurs and sun runs which means back to back sun-mon. Im going to have to rethink this
Well, you don’t have to do a week in a week... this could be done Thursday and Sunday, your netball would keep the legs going and we are all advised to do some exercise other than running on our rest days. It’s your journey at your pace, but it’s better to get to the end of this a little slower than a lot slower and off running, netball and anything else for a few weeks/months.
Hi Angie angel. Don’t think I’ll be the first to say it but ...... rest days are non negotiable if you wish to remain injury free (that’s not to say you can’t pick up an injury, rest days just reduce your chances). Rest days give your body time to repair itself. This is not to say you can’t do anything. Non weight bearing activities like swimming, cycling, yoga, are somethings you could do instead. Obviously you can make up your own mind on what you wish to do. Take care
Don’t go too fast too quick-the weeks will fly in before you know it! But as said above, you need at least one rest day for your legs to recover - even if you feel they don’t! Don’t risk an injury while your enjoying the programme, just go with it, it works!
