Am I mad?????

Just finished (plodded through- running isn't what I'd describe my pace!!!!) Run 2 - week 5 and think I'm getting a bit carried away.

I'm an overweight 43 year old who hasn't so much as run for a bus since school.

So what have I just done, only gone and registered for a10k race next year.

Think I need my head tested!!!!!

Don't worry. If you keep going steadily you will be more than ready. And it is a great incentive and motivation over the coming months.

we all do here :) welcome to the club ... a great incentive for you :) it is amazing what C25K gets us into.

No madder than the rest of us! My goal was initially yo run for 30mins three times a week. I am now planning my first Parkrun after graduation but have also started thinking ahead to maybe doing a 10k on the future. .! The bug has well and truly bitten!

Yep mad as the rest of us. It is so addictive you'll be signing up for more 10Ks then who knows. Good luck and take W5R3 steady.

No way. Next year is plenty of time & gives you a great goal to work towards.

Keep us posted with progress! ☺

The sky is the limit once you're a runner.

I think if you register for a head test, you'll find that the results are more positive than they would have been before you went crazy. Strange world this! :-)

I think that's the perfect incentive. I was in a similar situation earlier this year (although I've just turned 50) and graduated in June, I ran a 5 mile race last weekend and have registered for a 10k in November.

Keep going with the programme, I can remember feeling like I was plodding but your pace will gradually improve over the remaining weeks, and if your planned 10k isn't until next year you've pretty of time to work on distance and pace.

It will come, just keep at it!
