I just booked a race for life 5k, I will have my daughter holding my hand but still really scared. Don't know what possessed me, just stuffed some biscuits and was worried that without a goal as ive graduated I would fall back into bad ways. Well that won't be possible now. I'm booked in for 22 nd July at 1530 ahhh
Don't think I have even run for 5k yet the longest ive run is 38 minutes and think that was about 4.5k. I've got some work to do.

Fantastic! Well done you for being so brave and for a great cause! I'm trying to work up the courage to go along to a parkrun but you've inspired me to at least get my barcode!
Good for you! Its great to have an incentive. Good luck. I have my first race for life on Sunday and my time will be about 45 mins I think. So dont worry!
Good Luck!! Lots of people will walk on the race for life and you will be RUNNING! Did one last week and was such a friendly atmosphere/fun run, I had to be brave and go in the runners enclosure at the start and let the athletes run ahead! (i did pass a few later on as they obviously set off too quickly!!) the atmosphere will carry you on & the back-plates/stories inspiring too!
Good for you, mine is on 15th, but yes it does get you off the couch and keep you training,I ran 5k for the second time yesterday, slightly quicker than Saturday, its nice not having to increase the minutes, hopefully they will start coming down!
