Morning All!
Hope everyone's enjoying their weekend runs. After last weeks lunatic hill-bashing at the Summer Breeze Half Marathon, yesterday I went out for the much more sedate setting of the National Trust's Osterley Park for a civilised 10k around the grounds.
I've been feeling pretty fit recently so I thought I might try for a PB and set out with the 50minute pace group and crossed my fingers. I've never run with a group like that before (two pacemakers from a local running group and a few of us keeping up) and I have to say it was great fun. The two blokes doing the pacemaking did a fantastic job, both of keeping to time and encouraging us towards the end - I did my usual little sprint at the end and finished in 49.17 by my watch, which I'm absolutely over the moon about, it's my 10k PB by some distance and probably my two fastest 5ks as well.
I would strongly recommend checking out the pace groups at your next race and enjoying a bit of communal spirit.
Enjoy your running and if you've been out hunting bling this weekend let us know below.
All the best,
AHSx
