It has finally happened ~ I have given up the post run bacon and egg sarnie! What a wrench; no bacon fat dribbling down my chin; no ozzy egg from my girls in the garden; no sticky fingers...and hopefully, no fat round my waist.
I shall miss you; I shall miss you all...except my girth.
Best ever bacon and egg sarnie was in Yorkshire. We did Whernside [an unenjoyable slog] and came down to the 'T' van and sank our gnashers into a truly delicious sarnie all washed down with a large mug of tea. Didn't even take our sack off first. Yummy in the extreme.
I usually make myself a rosti rather than bread to go with it but I have (veggie) bacon and fried egg for breakfast a lot of the time... before running. Lower calorie than chia seeds, almond milk, ginger and banana...
I still eat bacon and egg sarnis. Grilled of course, and the egg done in a hot pan with a squirt of frylite. Nothing wrong with it at all in my book. I only generally eat one though if I have a good week on the scales. It's my reward. I don't butter the bread!
Just ditch the bread... you can still have bacon and eggs Apparently - and I do underline the "apparenlty - is not the real fat in foods that turns into fat around the waist (within limits I presume!)
It's a real tear-jerker isn't it? I shall keep buying my local butcher's bacon [wonderful chap who has just had a second hip replacement, and I couldn't be the one who is responsible for putting him out of business] and eating it. Grilling the bacon and dry-frying or veg fat frying.
On its own, no bread and maybe, just maybe a steaming hot mug of tea...Earl Grey, of course!!
