I was also.there runner 2382 and due to working the night shift 7.00pm to 8.00am & doing overtime I have not trained much + after doing a 12 hour shift this morning & having to RUN to Green Park because I did not read the leaflet properly I managed to get to the start line with 2 minutes to go!!! not the warm up.that I had planned...but finished with a time of 10:54....there were some quick runners who went to the front at the start and all I could see was backsides!!!! a great morning and I made a few freinds who will be running in the city mile next month.

:-) :-D

Well done to you and everyone else on the forum who joined in with this!

Sounds fantastic! The chance to run up or down and around The Mall is something gloriously English and not very usual ... Whoever is behind this idea and its organization is a good'un, in my humble bumble!

Curry noodles = ever so slightly weird!

We were even worse. Missed our train to London so very late for our wave which had left around 10 minutes before us. Myhusband ended up running the mile dragging a suitcase behind him!

That caused much mirth amongst the friendly crowd! Wasn't it fun though and great medal. On to the 10k now. Are you doing it?

Oh bless you, your husband passed me, the lowly one girl can runner who felt she was going like a snail, so you can imagine feeling embarrassed at running alone and the rest of my field a mere speck in the distance and then a man pulling a suitcase haring past me and my thoughts were something along the lines of oh now that's just taking the ... And that was inner frustration at myself because I couldn't go faster nothing else! It was my first race and won't be the last, I'm just a beginner and I beat my pb by some way. So THANKYOU to your husband for making me smile and I didnt come last which is also a first for me. Seems this running lark is doing me good and I will keep going.

However, it seems the trains have alot to answer for yet again ours was heaving with people a lot of them dressed as dragons and the like was that delirium after so much effort added with a touch of elusive sun or was comincon on over the weekend? Well done for getting there and running a great race. Hope the weather is kind to you today.
