So Happy I'm Back

Have not done a run for three weeks, and one run for two weeks before that having pulled a quad. Rested for three weeks, so thought it best to go back to W5R1 for my first attempt again. Absolutely brilliant, completed it and back on form. Last week I did a 5k brisk walk which I think helped. So I'm feeling pretty pleased that I'm back at last, and believe me, taking it very steady. What I am really pleased with is that I still want to do it! I'm still not a fan of running, but I tell you, the feeling you get when you've completed it is something else! Can't thank Laura enough πŸ˜ƒ

That's great news Jaxo! Me too on the IC for 3 weeks now.....hip flexor / thigh thingy. Sooooo frustrating. It's good to hear you've got back out there as I so want to! I'm aiming for a test run tomorrow, slow n steady, 20 mins if possible. It's been worrying me that I can't do it anymore :( but now you have so can I ! Thanks :)

Thanks Northernspirit, sorry to hear of your 'hip thingy'. Just be so careful, as you said, slow and steady. My quad is twinging this morning, so I'm gonna wait at least a couple of days or longer, don't wanna be back to square one. Keep us posted how it goes πŸ˜‰

Grrrrrr!! Went out for a pootle and its a no :( can still feel the pain and I'm not risking making it worse. Could run on it but thats not the same thing. Boooooo! Gonna try all rest and no stretching whatsoever. If it wasn't for this body I'd be fantastic at running !!

Aw, really sorry about your run. But as you said, nothing is worth making it worse for you. Perhaps in a week or so and only if you're up to it to try some walking, but I'm concerned for you about your hip thingy. Doctor said anything about what you can or cannot do? I've just come back from a walk, and I can feel my quad is tweeky, soooo frustrating all of this, when we wanna move on. take it easy!

Oooh I'm not one for the doc if I can help it! Thing is, what is rest? Normal walking around has to be done and it mounts up. Will rest more and see how I am later this week. Hope yours is now good to trot!
