I feel for Dan - My first run after layoff

Like Dan I have been hit by the horrible virus, aching muscles, coughing, sneezing, lots of horrible stuff coming out of my nose, etc. I don't think I have run for about 3 weeks but today I felt well enough to have a gentle jog so I am pleased to say I jogged 5 km in just over 34 minutes and it felt great. No coughing during the run, my nose behaved until I finished the run then protested but I feel I am back. After only starting running with the C25K plan just about 2 1/2 years ago I never thought I would miss running but I do, it is such a great feeling when you get out there and run free, and such a pain when you cannot. To all those like Dan who may be suffering with this virus thing. take your time, don't rush to get back if you are not feeling at your best, get better and you will soon be out there running around like the rest of us.

Great to hear you're back at it. It must be such a welcome relief to wave goodbye to the virus.

Thanks Dunder I think I am a couple of days away from being 100% clear but so nice just to get out for a run today.

I suffered with the virus and lost most of Feb.

It's funny how the only time we really appreciate feeling well is just after an episode like this. The rest of the time we just take it for granted.

Glad you are feeling better!

Thanks UR. I know in my post I said i hadn't run for about 3 weeks but I think it is more like a month It is a really nasty virus that does not make you feel like doing much. I have run with head colds before but this one whilst not full on flu was enough to stop me running but thankfully I am now on the way back. Hope you are fully recovered as well and back out there pounding the paths.
