Just back from W5R3. I did it! Wow me! Mind you, I am not too happy with myself. I was so keen that I think I must have started too fast. Within 3 minutes I had lost my breathing and was down 3 and 3 or 4 and 2, even 2 and 2 and so on. A bit of a mess. It took me a lot of will power to try to get it under control (not completely). Lesson learnt : take it easy. Slowly and regularly. Follow a tempo. Laura suggested i could redo this week and I think I will. I will redo run 3 all next week or until I have my breezing cadence right. It was so good. I really enjoyed it. I can't wait for hubby to wake up so I can boast about it.
Week 5 run 3: Just back from W5R3. I did it... - Couch to 5K
Week 5 run 3
That's brilliant NHS'!! Well done.
As you did it, why not move on to week 6? just remember the lesson you learned and take it really easy.
If it is a problem you could always just do the 2nd and 3rd runs of week 5.
Good luck with whatever you decide!
Well done NHS. I did the same run yesterday, it really feels like the biggest hurdle has been cleared.
It is completely up to you, of course, but based on what you have said I wouldn't see any need to repeat the run. You still have plenty of time and remaining runs in the program to correct whatever you think went wrong today.
Whoo hoooo!! Well done for sticking with it and lesson learnt....slow down. It's all about the time you run for not how fast. Move on? Why not? W6 begins with intervals again anyway. Good luck!!
Well done. I agree, why not move on but remember in future to run slowly. 😊
Well done!! as for your breathing, I'm on week 8 and have only really just got my breathing sorted so don't be too hard on yourself. Earlier on in the program, if I didn't feel happy with how a run had gone, I did sometimes repeat it but just the once, don't be too easy on yourself either lol!!
Well done! I have just finished that run too. So happy!
You are so right - slow and steady is the best way forward. You completed it - it's never easy - why not just move on to week 6? Good luck!
Wooo hoo! Feels good doesn't it? 👍 When I did W5R3 I was so glad I bumped into someone I knew so I could tell them about it!
