Determined on W5R1!

Boy ... That was a tough run but I managed my first 5k tonight. Couldn't do all the running due to calf muscle hurting. Anyway, my leg is now sore - lower leg near my ankle. A day's rest should sort it as my next run will be Friday. I will persevere!! 😊

Well done Kazzie.

I have just done wk 5, day 1 (repeated after some time out for injury) and I have to say, my whole body aches tonight!

Ooooh look after those calves they're buggers for stopping you running, I lost about 9 days due to calf strain. Rest, ice, rest, ice, massage, extra rest days if needed - all better than joining the IC!! :)

I think you may need to sloooow down Kazziecon, it's the worst thing if you have to stop the program due to injury. Many people don't reach the 5k distance even on the final week 9 runs. The important thing is being able to keep running for the required times rather than worrying about distance.

Remember to stretch well at the end of a run too...

Happy running :-)

Sadly, I have been unable to run since Wednesday due to severe swelling of my ankle. I can weightbear on it but when I tried to run, it was really painful.

If it persists I will be going to the MIU on Monday as it is really quite sore. Hopefully, it will only set me back a week!!
