There's a fun-fair in town right on the place where Parkrun starts, so it's reluctantly been relocated (the parkrun not the fair). The new start isn't brilliant, slow and narrow with bollards and fencing, made worse by a record turnout. The first half a km was dead slow, I walked most of it. I did get a chance to start Strava, and used my bluetooth headphones which stayed in place and worked the whole way. Really good run that seemed to be over really quickly. Even the 'hill' (all 6 metres of it) didn't stop me. Then right at the end I could see two people just in front of me I thought I could outrun. To make it even better one of them was about 10. So I got my own back on that 10 year old kid who streaked past me at the end a couple of weeks ago and did a sprint finish overtaking both. I paid for it though it took me ages bent double against one of the rides trying to get my breath back.
So a really good run spoilt only by circumstances beyond everyone's control, and an unusual number of dogs, several of which looked at me funny as if to say "If I wasn't on this lead I'd teach you how to run"

Aha! That was my 6th park run too I'm a lot slower than you but I, too, had to walk a bit at the beginning, eventually giving in and running at a pace that was slow even for me! Still, I was pleased with this week's run! Thought when I'd finished that I'd probably gone too slow because it seemed a relatively easy 5K compared with other weeks, even the hill was OK - so was over the moon to find I'd taken another 41 seconds off my PB And I managed a sprint at the end this week too!
