Hi all ,just thought I should share today's events parkrun style !
Started out all good ,my husband drove me to a further away parkrun (much flatter than my local )in good time as always. When we arrived only about 4 of us there when along comes racing green jag sports car .... hello ! He looks the part 😱.... the rest of us are all newbies so I ask him is this the right place ? He replies yes I've done this one before ! Ok I think but there should be more than me and 4 fit men !!
Checked their FB page and discovered were at the wrong end of the park with less than 10 minutes to go !!
Shouted we need to move ,one guy knew the way so all back into cars and off like maniacs ..... leaving the jag eating our dust 😂
Got to the right location jumped out of cars ,my new bff asked someone where do we start ,he shouts to me we've a kilometre to start line ..... aaaaah I shouted I can't do 1k in 5 minutes ,tell them to wait !!
Off we all ran to the start with some time to spare as they weren't too punctual 😊
Lovely friendly crowd who kept me right as I tried to gather some decorum again !!
Off we went ,lovely run around the lake with all shapes sizes dogs prams etc etc taking part !
I finished 3rd in my category and there were def more than 3 old girls there 😜
166 out of 188 runners with a time of 36.06 ..... delighted 😁
Well done craigavon parkrun,I will definitely be back and glad I know where to go now 🏃♀️🏃♀️
So if anyone has any doubts about joining parkrun,dont hesitate.... it really is a great inclusive and encouraging event 😁😁
