Slipping off the IC ;-)

I have been good and done my exercises and today I went for a Tentative Calf Test with a run walk with Rico setting the pace. I managed 7k in an hour and it seems my calf may be okay. Will wait to find out the aftermath but it really feels fine. Happy Happy Happy. Hope that's the end of the injury couch for me

Happy running all

GF

That's great news. I think I might venture out tomorrow after being laid up for nearly 4 weeks. Don't expect I'll manage 7k before collapsing though...

Just take it steady Ully. My heart rate was all over the place a lot higher than before but I'm sure the fitness will return. Good luck

Thanks. A little gentle run/ walking is in order I think.

Thanks PP. Probably tried too much today but sun was shining and Rico wanted to chase deer. What's a lad to do?

Thanks Kat. It's hurting again today so will have to take it easier. (20 mins rowing and 20 mins cycling ;-) Great start to the day)

Ooh well done for getting off the IC GF! I'm still kind of on mine as far as running goes, so I'm gymming it with just a little bit of time on the treadmill instead.

Thanks Ali. I'm not quite there yet myself the run walk has flared my calf up again so will continue the exercises and the rowing and cycling and do one run/walk a week. Hope you get off soon Ali

in reply toGettingFitter

It's so frustrating isn't it? I tried a run/walk with just a short 10 min run a few weeks ago and it flared up my achilles again so I had a moan to my GP about it and am now waiting on an ultrasound appointment to rule out any tears etc.

I quite enjoyed my first trip to the gym on Friday. Nice to have a bit of variety but can't wait to be off the couch and able to run outdoors too!! :)

I know. The lack of pain makes you over confident. I may have to get the physio to take another look.

IC to 7k is very impressive, I see you are down as near me but I think it's a bit erratic! Anyway I don't think I want to met someone who can come off the couch and do 7k!! I am in Bedfordshire,.......?

GettingFitter profile image

I'm in Surrey. It was a runwalk which was easier

Still 7k.....and as I suspected 'people near me' is flawed!
