I know a lot of people are concerned that since taking up running they haven't lost any weight. We all know that muscle weights more than fat, the pics just highlight one of the benefits of exercise.
Why you lose inches but not weight.: I know a... - Couch to 5K
Why you lose inches but not weight.
Thanks for the pic- a start contrast! However they both weigh the same, muscle just takes up less space.
That fat looks like the smoked haddock I put in my fish pie!
That looks bloody awful, I think I might look at this when I think or look at chocolate.
You do lose weight. Lots of it! Provided you are in calorie deficit that is. So don't stuff yourself if you're only running for a short time, or you won't lose weight. Eat less, move more
Also, i think that we are not building muscle. We might tone up what we have
Happy running
I ran a total of 17 miles last week, plus I did a 4 mile dog walk cross country and because I had the cheek to go out for "some beers" with my work mates on Thursday and had the audacity to indulge in "a little cheesecake" with Sunday lunch, I ended up putting on 3lbs.
Not fair!
Great picture. I do like it when I can visually see something. Thanks.
Bleurgh! Glad I gave the fatty bits of bacon to the cat now...
as missW said, we are not building muscle by going out running. Ask any bodybuilder : building muscle takes many many months of hours of progressive resistance training.
Yeeeeuuuuuw. That is on a par with the 'Casual Vacancy' scene with the pies/cheese/other normally covetable stuff covered with maggots and worms last night.
Gawd that fat looks awful, I don't even want to think about where it came from!
Couldn't resist another look. It's still yuk.
Reminded me of one of those school quiz questions: which is heaviest: 1 ton of feathers or 1 ton of coal. Suppose we are talking about volume rather than weight here?
Your school had some tough maths questions.
What is the answer ?
It's got to be coal.............isn't it ?
