....and it is done. 9 weeks of running three times a week starting with just a minute at a time and working up to 30 minutes. I may not be that fast but I can go for 5k.
This brings me to the end of this chapter and I start a new one. For now I want to run 5k and not just do it via the warm ups and downs. So that will keep me busy till the new year. After that I will be looking to train towards 10k and adding a little time each week.
I think I will also try some runs with my various bits of load carrying equipment and build some strength and stamina with that and build up to carrying around 20 pounds of equipment.
So my path is clear, my goals are simple and achievable. My aim is to become fighting fit again.
I can do this, we can all do this.

Congratulations. Keep us posted on your progress, it is always interesting to see how folk get on especially when they have targets that we are not all aiming for.
Many thanks for the replies and encouragement. I always like to read through the pages and see other people's ideas on training they are doing and see if I can include all or part of that into what I want to achieve.
My aims are always basic. I like to keep things simple and not put too much pressure on myself. I am not fitter than I have been for a long while, but not as fit as I'd like. But that's a goal to work towards and I can set myself aims to do that. As I complete that then I can move on in stages.
It's very easy to try and do to much and end up getting hacked off with it and give up. But I am also good at giving a good ol fashion motivational kick up the bum to people as well
