Definitely not! I'm 54 and will be starting week 5 very soon and I know for sure that I'm not the oldest on this forum. So sorry to hear that you got so close to finishing last time, but at least you know you can do it :) Lots of lovely advice and encouragement on here too. Just keep taking it steady and happy running :)

No way!!! There are all sorts of ages, shapes & sizes on here. You... Yes you... CAN... Do this!!! Just take it at your own pace, repeat a week if you need to, & don't worry about speed or distance right now. We're all behind you x

Hi there, you are definitely not too old. I'm 51, started when I was 49 to aim to complete for my 50th, didn't make it, too much too soon, long story, but basically took me over a year to graduate. Now I love it, this forum is great for support. I can do 5k in 37 to 39 minutes, which I am very proud of. It's taken a long time for me to feel settled, and begin to feel comfortable I.e. More relaxed and quicker muscle recovery. But I am very happy, the additional benefits are brilliant, I don't wobble quite so much, and feel so alive. Next year I may try to move up to 10k, but I'm in no hurry.

So, do it, do it, do it, take it steady, listen to your body, visit here often, and don't give up!

How fantastic that you're trying again. I'm a novice, just did my first run on Week 3 and I was scared to death not knowing if I was going to fail. Here's the thing, I'm 61 and still three stone overweight (having lost 3 stone already this year) so you are DEFINITELY not too old! Good luck with the next run and hats off for not giving up.

No it's exactly the right age! The programme was devised by a young man for his mother, she was 51 if I remember correctly.

i'm 54..
