Week 6 run 1

Hi guys. I completed my run 1 on thurs. Only thing is I have a pain in my hip. I should be running today but do I run through it or rest it another day? I'm worried its a stress fracture which I hear can take weeks. The pain is on the front ..on the bony bit. It doesn't hurt to press it but I can feel it when I walk and I felt it through Thursday's run. To be honest I have felt it on and off for a couple of weeks but it never bothered me whilst running. I'm fed up because last weekend I had to take a couple of days out due to a pain in my foot.

  • Hi NickyUk have you iced the area? you might just have some tissue damage, I would advise that you go to your gp and get it checked out.... :-)

  • You may have bursitis of the help and running will make it worse. Check it out with your doctor.

  • Hello. I went to the doctors and it's not bursitis .. He thinks I've pulled a muscle and doesn't want me to stop running. He said that will be good for the muscle. I ran yesterday and it was fine it's later on it bothers me. He's given me anti inflammatories

  • Can I suggest that you take the anti inflammatories an hour before running as this will stop the swelling that is causing the pain. Most people take them after the damage is done. Maybe you are already doing this and if so good luck.
