I thought it was high time I did my first parkrun. Signed up for one this saturday morning. I had an an email from a running lady I know who had seen my half marathon result online and she invited me to join her at parkrun. So it's kind of a relief to know someone there. She is a road rocket though so she'll leave me for dust. I can try and keep her in my sights though and hopefully that will drag me round quicker.
First parkrun!: I thought it was high time I did... - Couch to 5K
First parkrun!
It's nice knowing someone there for your first PR . Wilmacgh on here kindly waited for me at end on my first one -- and still waits every time she's there. It's lovely just being able to speak to someone . Cos you've done HM you'll know this but just remember and not get carried away with crowd and go too fast at start Ill keep fingers crossed for good weather Have fun
Mr W was pleased for at least an hour. After that it's back to normal. I mentioned my park run thing and he didn't respond at all. He's not overly effusive. LOL
Oh, incidentally, I've put NHS C25K down as my affiliated club!
Hope you have a fab first parkrun!
have a great run Miss W
You will love it miss w... And how fab to have someone new to get to know....
Good for you, I'm sure you'll whiz round fine with all your marathon training. I'm looking into doing one some time in November hopefully, in prep for a Santa Dash in December.
I hope you enjoy the Parkrun, look forward to hearing how you get on x
Glad you're giving it a go missW, I hope you have a fantastic time. I love parkrun, its the run of the week where I can push myself a bit harder and try and improve on my times. The rest of the week I take a bit more leisurely! Its good to have someone there that you know, I was more worried about parking and barcodes etc etc, than the running, so its great to have a running buddy for the first one. x
Apparently there are bacon sandwiches afterwards. Even better!
