My Daughter's first parkrun!

yesterday, I took my daughter to her very first junior parkrun at our local park. She is only 4 but she absolutely smashed it and the feeling of pride seeing her dash through the finish line was amazing

In some ways it has rekindled my drive to get back to running outdoors! The parkrun community is so welcoming and supportive and it really puts me at ease running outdoor at these events!

That is absolutely awesome! Really well done to you both - this will be a core memory for her. (I'm not at the Parkrun stage yet, but it's encouraging to hear about a welcoming community.)

thank you so much :) I have some confidence issues with running outside and for that reason am most of the time stuck indoors on the tread! the parkrun community is really welcoming to all abilities and the volunteers are amazing at cheering you along. Good luck with wherever you are in your training!

I have confidence issues about going to a Parkrun 🤣

Would be great if you could get back to running outside and I make it to a Parkrun!

Oh what a lovely photo TormundsBeard! I’m so glad your daughter loved it. My grandson will be 4 in September and I can’t wait to take him along.

And yes, you should back to running too. It’s the absolute best. Good luck - to you both! 👏👏👏👏

thank you so much for your lovely comment! I am certainly going to push myself to run outside weekly! Seeing my daughter step up and do it without excuses or hesitation is really inspiring for me!

That is exciting, i bet you can't wait to get out with him! Best of luck with it!

I did my first ParkRun Saturday too. W7r3. Never run outside so it was challenging. Well done to your daughter 🥇

There's a rule at my local (adult) parkrun. Any child (10 or over) must come in ahead of the adult who is accompanying them.
