Hello I am due to run W7R3 tomorrow but have an annoying niggly hip today. What would you advise? I don't want to aggravate it but also I don't want to break my routine! Thanks for any help.

One extra day's rest won't make any difference to your routine, surely, but it could save you a whole lot of hip pain. Good luck, what ever you decide to do.

I would not risk making the injury worse, the consequence could be that you end up having to rest for much longer.

Personally, I would take an extra day of rest. Much better to wait a day or even two for it to feel a bit better. It could just be one of those new runners' niggles as your body adjusts, but I would err on the side of caution xxx

Wait a bit. Mine hurt a month ago and is still a bit of a pest. Saying that, I told my GP I run to manage anxiety and he had a feel of the joint and said 'you can take painkillers and keep running on it, it'll just heal a bit slower'. I guess that depends on whether it's muscular or something else.
Thanks, I will take another day's rest and see how it feels on Friday morning.

Listen to your body I think....I had a dull ache in my hip over the weekend after completing Week 4. I ran the first Week 5 run on Monday and it did start to feel a little easier which made me think it was probably muscular. I took some ibuprofen yesterday to help with my cold, and the pain has gone totally. I think it has helped everything relax and certainly felt OK for today's run.
Maybe see how it feels in the morning and see how it holds up when you are first running...

You could take an Ibufren before you go to sleep tonight and then see how it is in the morning
