Should I run?

I'm feeling really tired today. Heavy legs and already looking forward to bedtime this evening! However, it's run day and I don't want to get out of synch with my routine. What are your tips for running when tired? Just take it really slow?

Hi there, I have felt the same some days particularly if not slept well but then spent the whole day moping around, worrying that I haven't gone and snacked! The gremlins really get to you. I am only a beginner but I would go, first thing, slowly and you are set up then for a good day, come back, enjoy a healthy breakfast and keep hydrated, you'll feel so much better than before you went

Some like rigid schedules but I have always preferred a flexible approach to my running. If conditions are not conducive to a good run, then I don't bother........ I like to enjoy myself.

What is most important to you? Sticking to timetable or enjoying yourself.

Sometimes a run makes things better... but going in tired is an almost guaranteed struggle. You’ll get a few struggle runs anyway whatever you do, are you really wanting to have one now? Doesn’t sound like it. Get some rest, go tomorrow, but don’t allow yourself to make excuses tomorrow.

You can either take a rest day ..or head out. You will know as soon as you head out there.. if it is just a general lethargy,it will clear.. if it is over tiredness, under hydration or a nasty old bug...your body will soon tell you... it is your best guide!

The run will still be there... and you need to feel up for it:)

I opted for a rest day. And went for a nap and slept for 2 hours! I think it's fair to say I was over tired! Early bed and first thing tomorrow morning! 😄

Keep at it. Sometimes the motivation is not there but just take it steady and you can do it
