I haven't run for a couple of weeks due to bad pain in my hips. It feels like I have pulled muscles in my stomach some times and other times it is pain in my sides.
Has anyone else experienced pain like this? I am desperate to run again, but I don't want to do more damage to my body.

I had a slight hip injury about 10 weeks ago after I graduated from C25K, it wasn't too bad but did stop me from running a 5K. If the pain had continued I would have had to go to the doctors, however, the pain did go and I ran the 5K. I did not do any runs and neither should you, if the pain does not go it would be worth a visit to your doctor, of course I hope that won't be necessary.
Thank you. The pain has eased slightly. The pain in the first couple of days was very bad, now it is bearable. I guess it is slowly mending, but I am not sure when I will run again and I expect the pain to come back when I do run again. I have just started seeing a Chiropractor as I have had lower back pain for 20 years. I am hoping to get some good treatment and advice to sort my back and my hips 👍
Oh this reminds me of something, when I had a sports massage and she said my hip flexors weren’t firing, so she did this prodding and painful massage into my abs. She said the hips flexors start there. Could be worth getting a sports therapist to check you out...good luck!
Could be piriformis syndrome?/sciatica I had the same, took two weeks off running because of the pain and started doing exercises for the piriformis muscle. You could google piriformis and see whether those sound like your symptoms. I have been back running 3 times a week now for the last 3 weeks and slowly working my way back to running 30 minutes, I do my stretches straight after my run and when I get up in the morning and I also bought some new running shoes at a proper sports shop it has made a huge difference. Good luck.
Great advice - thank you! It could be this. I just had a quick google. Proper running shoes is also a great suggestion. I have read this many times. Mine are basic running shoes. My chiropractor did say he would show me some stretching exercises next week. I don't have a clue so this should also help. Thanks again
