I have graduated but now have hip pain. It is clearly musclular not joint but it is painful to walk and run. I have grown to love running and don't like this at all! What shall I do? How long shall I stop running for?

I got this too after graduation, but it wasn't the hip that was really the problem although intially I thought it was, so I looked up stretching excercises for Piriformis Syndrome and that really helps.

Forgot to say I didn't stop running but changed for a while to 5 mins run 5 walk (total of 60 mins) for a few runs till it settled down. It still niggles from time to time.

had something similar and i ended up limping when i walked so didnt risk running, went to dr who referred me to physio but i got sick of waiting as was so frustrated and fed up of being in pain so i went to see a tuina therapist. one treatment and i was cured, totally realigned my hips, felt wonderful and not had any probs since. think osteopathy is similar.good luck and i hope you get it sorted x

Hi, I'm the same!! My hips have always hurt a bit since started, & my lower back has hurt more since doing the longer runs. But graduated last night & I'm in so much pain today with my hips! In fact the second I stopped running last night, I could barely walk home as it was hurting me straight away. I've also had problems with my piriformis too but this is right at the side (on the other side) & actually feels like my hip joint. My family are obviously saying I'm old & need an artificial hip, the little cherubs.
